Terms and conditions
  1. Participants must be Hong Kong residents aged 18 or above and are current Hong Kong Cable Television Limited ("CABLE TV") Discovery Channel subscribers to enter the prize contest ("Game").
  2. The registered name of the participant must be the same as printed on his/her Hong Kong identity card. All prize winners will be required to present their Hong Kong identity card for verification upon prize collection.
  3. During the period from August 10 to 31, 2015, both days inclusive, participants can log on to www.cabletv.com.hk after watching Discovery Channel and follow the instructions to enroll the Game.
  4. The Game will end at 11:59 pm on August 31, 2015. Game entry time is measured by CABLE TV's computer system. Any entry that is beyond the specified Game ending time will not be accepted.
  5. Participants must fill in the entry form correctly and accurately to constitute a valid entry. Participants will be rejected from the Game if any information in the entry form is incomplete and/or incorrect.
  6. Each participant can only enroll the Game once.
  7. 1 winner with the correct answers will receive the grand prize – a 3 days 2 nights trip for 2 persons to Taipei. Trip package includes return ticket (Economy Class) + passenger departure taxes + fuel surcharges and two nights' hotel accommodation (one bedroom) in Taipei.
  8. If there is more than 1 entry with the correct answers, the winner will be drawn randomly by CABLE TV.
  9. After the grand prize is drawn, 10 additional winners with the correct answers will be drawn randomly by CABLE TV who will receive the consolation prize - x 1.
  10. Results of the Game will be published on www.cabletv.com.hk on September 3, 2015.
  11. Winners will be notified individually by phone along with details of prize collection before September 2, 2015. Winners who have provided incorrect phone numbers will be disqualified.
  12. All prizes must be collected on or before 12:00 noon on September 8, 2015 at CABLE TV Tower, Tsuen Wan. No postal service will be arranged by CABLE TV. If any winner is unable to collect the prize within the time and place designated by CABLE TV, he or she will be deemed to have given up his or her prize and the right to collect it.
  13. Prizes cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash or other products.
  14. The grand prize winner is required to comply with the travel terms and conditions as set out by CABLE TV and the service provider(s) of Taipei trip. For more details, please click here.
  15. CABLE TV does not accept any liability for the quality, merchantability or fitness for purpose of the prizes.
  16. CABLE TV shall not be liable or responsible for any loss or damage incurred by any person as a result of the participants' joining the Game or any activity. Winners shall not make any claims or demands against CABLE TV and/or its group companies.
  17. All personal data collected by CABLE TV shall be kept confidential and the purposes for which the data may be used by CABLE TV are: (i) to contact the participants in the event that they are drawn as winners of the Game; (ii) to verify the identity of the winners; and (iii) to promote services offered by CABLE TV.
  18. Any personal data submitted as part of the participation in the Game will be deleted within 3 months of the closing date of the Game.
  19. Employees of CABLE TV or Discovery Channel are not eligible to participate in the Game.
  20. CABLE TV reserves the right to use the name, video footages and photos of the winners for promotion and marketing purposes.
  21. CABLE TV reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions or to cancel, alter or amend the Game or the prize at any time without prior notice.
  22. CABLE TV shall have the sole and absolute discretion to interpret and determine the rules of the Game, the prize and these terms and conditions. In cases of disputes, the decision of CABLE TV shall be final and conclusive.
  23. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the English and Chinese versions of these terms and conditions, the English version shall prevail.
  24. Participants agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  25. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
