香港城市大學校長郭位教授於本集訪問日本東北大學 (Tohoku University) 校長大野英男教授 (Professor Hideo Ohno)，探討日本高等教育的發展。一百多年前，不少中國的著名學者都是日本東北大學的校友，中國現代化啓蒙運動的先驅，魯迅先生亦曾經留學東北大學習醫。日本東北大學是日本明治政府成立的第三所帝國大學，在過去一個世紀，為日本現代化進程，培養了大量的領導和專業人才。

In this episode, President Way Kuo, City University of Hong Kong, discusses the development of higher education in Japan with Professor Hideo Ohno, President of Tohoku University, where many famous Chinese scholars have studied over the years, including Lu Xun, a leader of the modern enlightenment movement in China. He studied in the medical school at Tohoku University. Over the past hundred years, Tohoku University, which was the third Imperial University established by Japan’s Meiji Government, has cultivated many professional leaders as part of Japan’s modernisation journey.
